Crich Patients Participation Group

Welcome to Crich Patients’ Participation Group (CPPG)

Who are we?

The CPPG is a friendly and informal group open to all patients registered at Crich, Holloway and South Wingfield surgeries. We are keen to promote activties and increase involvement in all these areas. CPPG is also part of countywide and national networks of PPGs.

What do we do?

We represent patients' interests with the Crich Medical Practice and local health services, promote participation from the community in health and well-being activties and help pass on relevant information between the Practice and the community. The PPG holds quarterly meetings which include the Practice Manager.

The PPG and its volunteers also organise activtites (e.g. Kids holiday activities and Dementia Friends sessions), and work with other local group (e.g. Mutual Aid, Crich Digital Friends, the Glebe, Grow Outside CIC, Active Crich for Everyone, Community Pantry and Art Share), to faciliate a joined up programme of events, information and initatives to improve the health and wellbeing of the whole community. This is supported by funding from kind donors, both businesses and individuals, grant funding and money from the Practice.

The PPG doesn’t pursue individual complaints or cases with the Practice (which has it's own complaints procedure). It is here to monitor and raise general matters of general concern with the Practice or local health services on behalf of patients, and of course to pass on compliments! We will never identify patients who contact us to the Practice unless they wish us to do so.

Our key aims are:

  • To indepdendently represent the interests of all patients and the community with Crich Medical Practice, local health services and local authorities
  • To support and enhance the physical and emotional wellbeing of all residents in the Practice's catchment area
  • To provide an effective, trusted and inclusive link between the Practice, the community it serves and the voluntary groups and organisations that support that community
