Fritchley Village Hall

Interior of Fritchley Village Hall

After successfully regaining the use of Fritchley Village Hall for the community, and the re-establishment of the church congregation, things have been happening quickly. The money raised at the village meeting to ‘Sponsor a chair’ (over £100) has gone towards acquiring 100 upholstered chairs that have been ‘rehomed’ from the Derby Assembly Rooms. We also have five new tables, and a water urn for tea-making, but we could do with a fridge, if anyone is getting rid of a half- decent one.

Thanks to everyone who came to the meeting and contributed ideas, volunteered or donated. We still want more ideas for events and activities that the village would like to happen (and of course people who would like to help run them!). Everyone who sees the hall says what a lovely space it is for events and activities.

You can see the days and times available to book on the hall calendar and make an enquiry on the website (fritchleyvillagehall.co.uk). To address the concerns of people who were worried about blocking access for community activities, all regular bookers are asked to agree to give way if a one-off priority local event is planned.

If you have enquiries or ideas, contact us on fritchleyvillagehall@gmail.com or via the website, Facebook page or call me on 07789 373241, and support the church services on the first Sunday of the month.

Now we’ve got the building back, it’s up to the village to make best use of it – it’s for everyone!
