TV, during lockdown, has featured endless tales of how communities and individuals have pulled together to ease the unexpected difficulties Covid-19 has presented us with. One of these features showed Sandra Maycock from Fritchley telling us about Derbyshire Scrubs: an organisation set up in less than 10 weeks to provide scrubs for whoever needs them in the central Derbyshire area.

News from recycle centres, countryside sites, new care home and Action Grants
Dawn Harper Catering has been providing local residents in lock-down with hot lunches as part of the COVID-19 Mutual Aid repsonse. On VE Day she went the extra mile and also produced a celebratory tea for all of the regular members of the group.
A new community Facebook group sharing old pictures of Crich and the surrounding area has been an instant success with residents old and new.

On Sunday 5th July, Crich Tramway Village in Derbyshire will host their 4th Annual Classic Motorcycle Day.
Organised in conjunction with the Vincent H.R.D Owners’ Club, the event combines the passions of vintage trams and classic motorcycles offering a great family day out.
Free entry is offered to owners of classic motorcycles built prior to 5th July 1995 who wish to exhibit their motorcycles for a minimum of three hours, thanks to local skip & grab hire firm ’Derwent Waste Management’, who have sponsored the event for the fourth year.

The race is open to all comers, club runners, pub runners, slow runners. In particular we would like teams from clubs, pubs and societies, everyone is welcome. All proceeds go to well deserving local charities.
The route is mainly off road with fantastic views of the Derbyshire countryside and is a REAL challenge for Fell, Road and Trail runners, the race distance is approximately 11.3 kilometres including 1000 feet of climbing.

The Race starts at 1.30pm.
