The Amber Valley Routeways is a series of circular walks and rides along public footpaths and bridleways throughout the Amber Valley.
Shining Cliff Woods is a Site of Special Scientific Interest due to the huge variety of plants and animals found in this ancient woodland. The wood supports a diverse bird community including warblers and flycatchers and, in the winter, bramblings and other finches. You will see that the species of trees and the management of them changes through the woodland.
A self guided leaflet accompanies each route giving directions and interesting snippets of information along the way. Download Route 12 - Ambergate and Shining Cliff Woods
